Cancer!! A nightmare once you here only good to hear when you and your closes are away from it. I was a 24yrs old young man just finished my master’s from London came to India with lots of ideas in mind to start something new on my own in my coming days. A health freak used to work out a lotto stay fit and look smart. Just a usual pain in chest ignored couple of times earlier while working out but this time for satisfaction when to my father he took me too one of his Friends in AIIMS he quickly took me to the echo room did echo and found there was unwanted in between chest. He referred me to Max called on of his associate there we went there the doctor he saw the and said to do a biopsy before we’ll surgically remove it but in Biopsy it came out positive which just changed our world upside down. Cause now I was facing from Lymphoma a type of cancer happens only at young age. So we went to oncology department of MAX SAKET which is one of the best in DELHI NCR. Met a doctor earlier but the way he told the treatment it made cold blood run down me and my father’s body I could feel it as I could see some tears in his eyes which made me helpless we came out of the room as some of our family friends were waiting outside as we were discussing what doctor said my jijaji who was with us just read the Name Dr. Alok Gupta we had heard his name as he was a very close friend of my jijaji’s family friend. That was the time where it all started Dr. Gupta took us in the conference meeting hall as all cabins were full he explained the whole treatment very briefly that in it is a fully curable disease the treatment in this is five days of chemotherapy continuously with one day of immunity to start with which makes upto 6days in total in one stretch which should be done every 15days after the the first two chemo sessions it made me go in pain and agony as it made me weak sensations in my fingers which was very irritating after the first sessions had to be admitted again in between 15days as I had some complications in my stomach as a sideffect was having a problem in passing stool and severe pain in stomach for continuous 3days. But as the third cycle of my chemotherapy started I was a bit aware of all the sideffects which were like mouth ulcers which were a nightmare in my case as after the third once my cycle of chemo used to stop the ulcers would start developing and made to go just the liquid diet as anything I used to put in my mouth would heart early morning my mouth used to pain a lot and blood used to come as soon as my mouth strectched. Whenever I used to go to watch movies to change my mind I used to feel so sad as I couldn’t eat anything there and use to imagine my old times when I used to come fit and fine. Used to feel pain in my calf muscles if I used to walk a little more than usual at home. But after the third cycle of my chemo my family and I was aware of all the sideffects and knew the treatment given to us was 100% to the point and effective me in the right way. During my stay of 6days for the chemo sessions I got a large audience of people to visit me which kept me and my family motivated and happy always. Everyday I used to get somewhere around 5 to 6 people to meet me daily. The main was support from the hospital staff my head nurse Sheeba she treated me like a son and I was famous as her son only on the floor I used to get my room for the chemo sessions as I was the youngest on that floor as a patient and my doctor Alok Gupta he had allowed me to bring food from home as I didn’t after few I started hating the taste of hospital food so everyday lunch and dinner used to come from home and me and my family and family friends who were the visitor in the hospital used to have food together. Everyday at exact 12pm DR. alok gupta and his team used come to my room see me and the doctor was so good he always used to ask me how was my day what I was doing which movie I watched did I do any other work on my laptop which made just miles way from the disease of detected with. So during the whole treatment the doctors support towards me was a total change for me and my family’s mind which made them believe their son will be back to normal it’s just a matter of time and he’s in the best hands. So I like to say in the end what has to happen will happen don’t worry just stay happy and strong from inside everything pass by because everything is propotional to you if you are sad mentally weak your family be shattered and even the doctor’s work wont work on your body. Enjoy life as I am as I used to before my treatment started lost around 10 kgs of weight gained it all back in another month once my treatment ended lost all my hairs got my eyebrows and beard in one month and hair on my head also started coming in another 1 and a half once my treatment ended.
